Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that he currently has no preferred candidate for the 2027 presidential election, while making it clear that he does not intend to support the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking during an interview with News Central TV, the singer said his political decisions are separate from those of his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, who has publicly expressed support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 bid.
Davido said he has previously supported different political movements, including Atiku Abubakar and the APC during its early years, but explained that he has not yet found a presidential candidate he wants to back in the next election.
He stressed that his position could still change as the election approaches, but ruled out supporting the APC.
Davido has remained politically vocal in recent years and was particularly active during the Osun State election cycle, where he encouraged voter participation and called for transparency in the electoral process.
His latest comments have sparked fresh reactions online, with many Nigerians debating the possible political choices ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
