Curaçao goalkeeper Eloy Room produced one of the greatest goalkeeping displays in FIFA World Cup history, making 15 saves in his side's remarkable 0-0 draw against Ecuador.
The performance earned Curaçao their first-ever World Cup point and set a new record for the most saves in a World Cup match played over 90 minutes.
The 37-year-old shot-stopper is now level with former United States goalkeeper Tim Howard on 15 saves in a World Cup match, although Howard's famous tally came during the USA's Round of 16 defeat to Belgium in 2014 and included extra time. Howard's overall record remains 16 saves, while Room now holds the record for a 90-minute World Cup game.
Ecuador dominated the Group E encounter, registering 28 shots and 15 efforts on target, but Room repeatedly denied stars such as Enner Valencia to secure a historic result for the Caribbean nation.
At 37, Room is also the oldest player in Curaçao's squad and has become one of the standout stories of the 2026 World Cup after his record-breaking heroics.
