OsunDecides2026: Adeleke Hails Victory as Triumph for Democracy
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has described his victory in the 2026 governorship election as a victory for democracy and the people of Osun State.
Adeleke spoke shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him winner of the poll held on Saturday.
Expressing gratitude to God and the people of the state, the governor said the result showed that Osun residents appreciated his administration’s efforts in areas such as infrastructure, education and agriculture.
According to Adeleke, the people had demonstrated their confidence in his leadership by choosing to retain him in office.
The governor secured victory in 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas to emerge as the winner of the election.
Reacting to the result, Adeleke said the victory belonged to the people of Osun, describing it as a strong endorsement of democracy and the dividends of good governance.
