Anambra First Lady urges stronger support for entrepreneurs

Her Excellency Dr Nonye Soludo, has called for increased support and empowerment of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), describing them as the foundation of economic growth, job creation and innovation.
In a message posted on her Facebook page on Saturday to mark the 2026 International Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day, observed annually on June 27, Soludo praised entrepreneurs for their resilience, creativity and determination in building stronger communities.
She said entrepreneurs play a vital role in driving economic development by creating jobs, strengthening families and fostering sustainable growth.
"Today, we celebrate the resilience, innovation and determination of entrepreneurs whose ideas create jobs, strengthen families and drive sustainable economic growth.
She stressed the need for continued policies and initiatives that improve access to markets, skills development and business opportunities, noting that thriving small businesses are essential for prosperous and inclusive communities.
The 2026 observance of International MSME Day is themed: "Human-Centred Entrepreneurship in an AI-Driven Future: Economic Empowerment for the Next Generation of MSMEs."
The annual event highlights the significant contributions of MSMEs to sustainable development and the global economy while encouraging governments, businesses and development partners to strengthen support for entrepreneurs.
