According to police, the suspect was detained at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport while reportedly attempting to board a flight to Perth, Australia. He has denied any involvement in the teenager's alleged abduction and death.
Investigators say surveillance footage showed the man entering a condominium with the teenager before later leaving alone with a large suitcase. The victim's body was later recovered after police traced the case.
Authorities are awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination and additional forensic evidence before formally filing charges. Potential charges under investigation include murder, child abduction, concealing a body, and offences relating to the alleged abduction of a minor.
