The final is scheduled for 8pm Nigerian time at the Prince Moulay Al Hassan Stadium in Rabat, with the winner set to be crowned Africa’s newest women’s football champion.

Malawi booked their place in the final with a 3-1 victory over Algeria, with sisters Tabitha and Temwa Chawinga playing starring roles. Tabitha scored twice, while Temwa also found the net as Malawi continued their remarkable run on their tournament debut.

Cameroon, meanwhile, secured their final spot after overcoming hosts Morocco on penalties following a goalless 120 minutes. Goalkeeper Michaely Bihina was the hero, producing crucial saves during the shoot-out to send the Indomitable Lionesses through.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper has been one of Cameroon’s standout performers throughout the tournament, including a strong display against defending champions Nigeria in the quarter-finals.

Both teams have already booked their places at the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil by reaching the semi-finals.

For Malawi, victory would complete one of the most remarkable debut campaigns in WAFCON history. Cameroon, appearing in the final for the third time, will be hoping their experience can finally deliver a first title.

One final. Two ambitious teams. One historic crown.

Who will lift the trophy — Malawi or Cameroon?
